A poem I wrote in the 5th Grade:
I say- Save Me!
·
Once I did see her crying
·
On her lap, that we are lying
·
Why after all, why won’t she weep?
·
On her lap, that we humans sleep
·
O so bold
was she till now
·
But don’t test her patience though
·
Believe me, all, everyone
·
Her tears weighed exactly a ton!
·
Litter, dust, and harmful smoke
·
With all this around, how won’t she choke?
·
Parts of her are even getting burnt
·
All these facts, from her I learnt
·
She holds a most heavy burden; how strong she
must be
·
But now she weeps, looking out for humanity
·
See you folk, every single one
·
You don’t know who she is; then wait till I’m
done!
·
Even though she can’t talk, shout and scream
·
I have met her in my dreams
·
And Mother Earth keeps saying in grief
·
‘Save me, or you’ll have no more of me!’
